Lanzarote is an ideal location for a memorable villa vacation. As this popular holiday island offers loads of excellent villa accommodation – plus great beaches and loads of things to do.

Self catering breaks on the island have grown in popularity alongside the emergence of the internet as a booking tool. There are good quality rental properties located across the island – with a large concentration in each of the main holiday resorts.

Puerto del Carmen is the largest and oldest of these and offers tourists some of the best beaches on Lanzarote. Such as the huge expanse of sand on Playa Grande and the blue flag winning Playa Chica. Which is very safe for bathing thanks to the fact that a bay has been crated here using giant volcanic rocks.

Villas in Puerto del Carmen can be booked from €500 per week upwards, depending of course on the number of people in the holiday party and the time of year. As prices climb during peak booking periods such as Christmas, Easter and the school summer holidays. Whilst months such as November and February offer much cheaper rates for those looking to book a villa holiday on a budget.

Rental properties in the resort are in general very well appointed and all have private swimming pools. With many also enjoying luxury extras such as Jacuzzis and high speed internet connections. With the very best villas located in the enclave of Los Mojones, which is around a ten minute walk to the Old Town harbour. Which is very much the organic heart of the resort.

Villas in Playa Blanca are also very popular. Not least as they are usually a little cheaper to rent than in Puerto del Carmen. Tourists can expect to pay upwards of €400 per week here, with price again varying dependent on party size and the time of the year.

Costa Teguise is the third largest resort on Lanzarote and there are plenty of privately owned villas available for rent here too. With the best of the bunch located close to the beach at Playa Flamingo. Enabling guests to literally stroll from their front door straight onto the sand.
